about
Written : December 2009
The final song about Lola. After being “friends of convenience” for about 2 years, I decided that enough was enough and ended it. Lola came round one December day (actually it was 28th December 2009 – my niece’s 2nd birthday) and I played it to her – it was only one verse at the time.
I played it on the guitar and sang it to her, then had to translate it to her. She wasn’t best pleased although in fairness we hadn’t actually seen each other for 3 months, so it is hard to be surprised.
Whilst playing our first ever gig in the Peel music (8th Jan 2011) we played this song. It went down very well – so much so in fact that I could actually hear the audience sing along to the chorus (well the last line – “It’s Over Now”. Now that is exactly what the dream is all about and the feeling of pride was immense.

Lyrics
Verse 1
Youve changed But its all the same
Fed up playing Your silly games
Its over now
Its over now
Its run its course We had our time
I may be the forgiving kind
But its over now
Its over now
Chorus
I felt a stranger right in my own bed
Its not meant to be like that somehow
We lay together but were miles apart
Thats why
Its over now
Verse
Saturday, I’m on my way
Feels like we've nothing left to say
Its over now x 2
Goodbye my friend I hope you find
Someone to be there by your side
Its over now x2
Chorus
I felt a stranger right in my own bed
Its not meant to be like that somehow
We lay together but were miles apart
Thats why
Its over now
Lead solo
Chorus
I felt a stranger right in my own bed
Its not meant to be like that somehow
We lay together but were miles apart
Thats why
Its over now
